Pain
Pain: A Final Year Project
Pain is a universal experience. But when the way our bodies perceive damage goes wrong, pain can be an unbearable, silent and lonely ailment. Nearly one in ten of Singaporeans suffer from chronic pain, pain that lasts more than three months, and that number is set to rise as our population ages. This feature seeks to look into the mechanics of pain, why it occurs, and the way it impacts the lives of the people who suffer from it.
In 2018, I was commissioned by writer Ng Yi Shu to create a selection of visuals for his long form piece on how pain is dealt with in Singapore. I contributed cover art, 8 editorial illustrations and 2 infographics.
